Even though decluttering your space can seem like a difficult task, it can be made manageable and even enjoyable by creating a simple daily routine. You don’t have to feel overwhelmed to keep your home neat and organized by adopting a few short daily routines. Here are five short suggestions to get you started with a daily decluttering schedule.

  1. Make your bed as soon as you get out of bed each day.

   Believe it or not, something as simple as making your bed each day is one of those powerful life lessons that inspire positive change. Micro habits take just 3 to 5 minutes, but they help set the tone for your day.

  • Spend 5 minutes each day decluttering one small area that bothers you.

   It could be a junk drawer, a dresser drawer, or a shelf in your refrigerator. When you take just 5 minutes to declutter that area, it frees up space in your brain. If you don’t, it continues to bear down on you just like a never-ending to-do list.

  • Handle items once instead of putting them down to deal with later.

   Put things away immediately where they belong. For example, when you take your clothes off at night, either hang them up or put them in the laundry. It’s just as easy to get in the habit of dealing with them immediately rather than letting them pile up on a chair or on the floor.

  • Tidy your workspace at the end of each day to give you a fresh start in the morning.

   There’s nothing better than starting your day off with a clean desk. It will help you get off to a good start because it helps you focus on what needs to get done rather than having to waste time cleaning it up.

  • Establish a nightly routine to tidy up common areas before bed.

   Just like a 5-minute morning routine, set a 5-minute evening routine. You will relax and sleep better knowing that when you wake up, you will have a neat and organized home.

By incorporating these simple, quick habits into your daily routine, you can maintain a clutter-free and organized home effortlessly. Remember, the key is consistency and making these small tasks a part of your everyday life.
