Fresh Start Scholarship Foundation
As the Immediate Past President of Fresh Start Scholarship Foundation, I continue to be committed to our scholars, the Foundation, and our overarching mission of improving the lives of women through education. It has been my experience that these women simply need a hand-up NOT a hand-out and when they are truly supported by their communities, they can accomplish anything.
Annually, we hold a celebratory event to acknowledge our scholars achievements and welcome our newest scholars to the family. There is no greater joy then hearing “I’ve never received an award in public before” or “without Fresh Start I wouldn’t be able to achieve my dreams of a college education. I am now a role model for my children and family”. Getting to work directly with our scholars, board members, and sponsors is an honor and I am so proud to continue my service to the Foundation.
Great Dames
What does it mean to be a Great Dame? Dames like to make connections in their community through support and understanding of one another, and bring powerful conversations to your attention to inspire action for women no matter their situation.
Why is Great Dames important to me: the Great Dames community helps ignite “Firestarter” ideas in women and encourages them to be bold enough to pursue their dreams, no matter what stands in their way. Great Dames stands for women helping women achieve their own greatness.
