For a number of years I have been longing for a simpler lifestyle that would allow more time for things that really mattered.
In January of this year I made the decision to sell my 5,000 square foot home in rural Chester County and downsize to a 1,000 square foot apartment in center city Philadelphia. By downsizing to a smaller space and letting go of my big home and all the responsibilities that come with it, I could create the new urban lifestyle that I’ve always wanted to experience. I was inspired by my two sons who are living with less and thriving in 700 sq ft. apartments in NYC and DC, and also by the extensive research on baby boomer lifestyles that we have been compiling for our new company The Good Life.
Throughout the month of May, I will be sharing my own downsizing journey with my followers to let you know that you are not alone. In addition to my personal insight, we will be posting downsizing tips of the day, articles relating to downsizing, and research on baby boomers, the demographic to which I belong and that I have come to know so well.
Be sure to follow me on my journey of laughter, tears, and overwhelm. Share my excitement in creating a new simpler life.
